Viola Davis Set To Be Honoured With The Cecil B. DeMille Award At The 2025 Golden Globes
Legendary actor Viola Davis is set to be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2025 edition of the Golden Globes Award.
The Cecil B. DeMille Award has been bestowed on 69 honorees since its creation in 1952 to celebrate the most talented and iconic Hollywood figures.
Some of the previous winners of the award include Denzel Washington, Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Streisand, Walt Disney, Robert Redford, and Sidney Poitier.
“Viola Davis is a luminary whose profound talent has continuously shifted the lens through which we see and understand film,” President of the Golden Globes Helen Hoehne said.
“Presenting her with the 2025 Cecil B. DeMille Award is not only an honor but a reflection of our admiration for her relentless dedication to her craft and her monumental impact on the industry.
“Viola’s courage in portraying complex, powerful characters has broken barriers and paved new paths, making her an emblem of excellence and an ideal recipient of this prestigious award.”

Recall that in 2012, the thespian and her husband, Julius Tennon, founded JuVee Productions with the main aim of serving as a voice to the voiceless through strong and impactful narratives.
She is one of the biggest actors in the history of American entertainment and has done justice to some outstanding stories, such as featuring as the lead character in “The Woman King.”
