Tacha Aims Guinness World Record for Most Makeovers in 24 Hours at Inaugural Beauty Festival
Nigerian media personality and entrepreneur Tacha Akide is preparing to make history with the maiden edition of the Tacha Beauty Festival, scheduled for October 10–12, 2025, at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History, Onikan, Lagos.
The three-day event will combine beauty, culture, and business, attracting thousands of participants from across Nigeria and beyond. Its headline attraction is Tacha’s Guinness World Record attempt for the Most Cosmetic Makeovers by an Individual in 24 Hours. She will target at least 150 makeovers, positioning Nigeria’s fast-rising beauty and lifestyle industry on the global stage.
“This is more than a record attempt. It is a statement that Nigerian creativity and excellence can compete anywhere in the world,” said Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism. “The Tacha Beauty Festival is about empowering talent, celebrating culture, and creating a space where beauty meets opportunity. Lagos State is proud to support this project.”
- Beyond the record attempt, the festival will host:
- Workshops and Masterclasses on makeup, hair, skincare, wellness, and fashion.
- A Vendor Village showcasing local and international beauty brands.
- Business Hack Sessions and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs.
- Cultural exhibitions to highlight Nigeria’s creative industries.
By blending beauty, commerce, and heritage, the festival is expected to generate new opportunities for small businesses, inspire young creatives, and strengthen Nigeria’s position as a hub of global innovation in the beauty space.
Since rising to fame on Big Brother Naija, Tacha has built a multifaceted brand as a TV personality, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. With millions of loyal fans across Africa and beyond, she has leveraged her platform to champion self-confidence, women’s empowerment, and entrepreneurship.
The Beauty Festival marks another milestone in her journey. It is not only a showcase of Nigeria’s creative potential but also an attempt to elevate the beauty sector into a driver of economic growth and cultural identity.
“This festival is my way of giving back to an industry that shaped me,” Tacha said in a recent promo. “It’s about breaking barriers, inspiring the next generation, and proving that African talent belongs on the world stage.”
If successful, Tacha’s Guinness World Record attempt will draw international attention and add to Nigeria’s growing list of global achievements. For the local beauty industry, it could boost investment, tourism, and job creation while reinforcing Lagos as Africa’s cultural capital.
As October approaches, excitement is already building among fans, beauty enthusiasts, and entrepreneurs eager to witness history being made in Lagos.
