Gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has been invited to minister at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
The 44-year-old announced the invitation on Instagram, sharing a poster for the event with the caption: “Let’s raise a sound in America. And let the King of Glory come in. See you, 20th January, 2025.”
The event, hosted by Reverend Merrie Turner at the Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom, is a faith-based gathering held every four years ahead of a new administration. It serves as a spiritual support for the U.S. government and presidency.
Notable speakers for the breakfast include Dr. Alveda King and Pastor Mario Bramnick. The occasion precedes the swearing-in of Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.
Bassey, a renowned trumpeter and leader of the Hallelujah Challenge, is celebrated for his hit songs like Imela, Onise Iyanu, and Olowogbogboro.
His online worship movement has garnered global attention, blending music and ministry.
In 2024, the Mayor of Albany, New York, honored Bassey by declaring October 6 as “Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day.”
