Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 84, has been hospitalized after sustaining an injury during an official engagement in Luxembourg. According to her spokesperson, Ian Krager, Pelosi continues to work despite the setback.

Sources revealed that Pelosi was injured after a fall on the stairs. While her office declined to comment on specific details, the US military later transported her via medevac to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, a prominent military hospital known for treating injured US troops.

Krager confirmed that Pelosi is receiving “excellent” care from medical professionals. He stated, “While travelling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury and was admitted for evaluation.”

Although she could not attend the remaining engagements of the congressional delegation, Pelosi expressed her commitment to honouring the courage of American servicemembers. She remains optimistic about her recovery and looks forward to returning to the United States soon.

This incident comes shortly after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, 82, also suffered a fall at the US Capitol earlier in the week. McConnell sustained a minor cut to the face and a sprained wrist but has since resumed his schedule.

Both incidents highlight recent health concerns among senior leaders in Congress.
