Late Herbert Wigwe’s Associates and Friends Support His Daughter Amid Estate Dispute

The battle over the estate of the late Herbert Wigwe, former Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, has revealed deep divisions within his family. While his will clearly outlined his wishes, his father, Pastor Shyngle Wigwe, and cousin, Christian Wigwe, have repeatedly challenged its execution.

Amid this conflict, Herbert’s close associates and friends have quietly supported his daughter, Otutochi Wigwe, as she fights to uphold his legacy.

Following his tragic passing, Wigwe’s will named his cousin, Uche Wigwe, and business partner, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, as trustees responsible for managing his assets and ensuring the well-being of his children.

However, his extended family soon contested this arrangement, filing lawsuits that directly challenged Otutochi’s authority as her younger siblings’ eldest child and guardian.

The legal dispute took a troubling turn when Pastor Shyngle and Christian filed a motion seeking control over the estate. The Lagos State High Court, however, dismissed their claims, ruling that they had no legal standing to challenge Wigwe’s will.

Despite the court’s decision, tensions within the family have continued to rise. A viral video showed Emeka Wigwe, Herbert’s brother, allegedly trying to prevent Otutochi and her siblings from visiting their father’s grave.

This incident has raised concerns about the emotional strain and hostility the children continue to face within their own family.

Amid this turmoil, Wigwe’s closest associates have stepped in to provide quiet but vital support for Otutochi. They have helped her withstand the relentless pressure from opposing family members through legal aid, financial stability, and moral encouragement.

While their involvement is not widely publicized, it remains crucial in ensuring the Wigwe children have a strong foundation on which to rely.

The fight over Wigwe’s estate is about more than just wealth—it is about respecting his final wishes and safeguarding his children’s future. In the end, those who genuinely cared for him in life remain committed to preserving his legacy.
