Beyond the MVP: Scaling Culture as You Grow Your Team
Launching with an MVP proves your product works. The next level of accomplishment is scaling your culture successfully as you transition from a small team to a larger organization. If you don’t intentionally scale your culture, it will dissipate into chaos.
Culture scales through systems. Document the behaviors and values you want to see repeatedly. This means writing down your core values, integrating them into hiring profiles, performance reviews, and recognition programs. Make sure the values you preach are the values you reward.
As you hire, every new person either reinforces or erodes your culture. Be deliberate in onboarding new hires so they understand the “unwritten rules” and the expected way of working together. By proactively scaling your culture alongside your operations, you ensure that your team remains aligned, motivated, and effective, translating vision into lasting success.
