Asia Pacific Sustainability Conference And Awards: A Living Call to Conscience
The two days of the Asia Pacific Sustainability Conference (#APSCA) in Bali, Indonesia, were nothing short of exhilarating – an experience that stirred both the mind and the soul. The conversations were alive with purpose, the speakers brilliant, and the delegates visibly inspired.
What stood out most wasn’t just the ideas shared on the podium, but the spontaneous collaborations that sparked between sessions. You could almost see the light bulbs flickering on – people from different backgrounds suddenly aligned to the same cause, sketching out real use cases on napkins instead of just discussing theories.
Whether through regenerative agriculture, transparent water governance, or data-driven biodiversity protection, the energy at the venue was one of optimism and purpose. A highlight was the introduction of #Sustainix, a blockchain-powered platform that turns sustainability promises into verifiable proof. Delegates saw how it could transform green claims into traceable, transparent, and trustworthy records – giving smallholders and innovators equal opportunity to learn and to be celebrated in their own ecosystems.
A key highlight of the conference was Sustainable Business Network’s (SustNet) appointment of Dr. Daniel CF Ng as the inaugural Chairman of the Asia Pacific CEO Circle, a landmark coalition of business leaders dedicated to advancing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) leadership. The announcement was made simultaneously across Bali (Indonesia), Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), on 28 October 2025.
The CEO Circle is an exclusive platform where recipients of the Asia Pacific Sustainability CEO Awards convene to exchange insights, collaborate on ESG strategies, and inspire systemic transformation. Membership is limited to proven sustainability leaders. As Chairman, Dr. Ng will lead agenda-setting, curate up to three ESG themes per session, and facilitate collaboration on transformative projects.
It was my privilege to present Africa’s position at APSCA. Here’s a summary of what I told the gathering in my presentation.
– The event celebrated innovation, sustainability, and leadership by recogning the Africa continent’s unwavering commitment to a better future.
– Africa has moved away from being a recipient of solutions; it’s now driving sustainable development; from renewable energy to eco-friendly technologies.
– Regional collaboration is key to our holistic success in an AI-driven multipolar world. By working together, we can share knowledge through technology transfer, investments and resources allocations with regards to climate change, sustainable agriculture, and healthier environment.
