Tobi Amusan Is A Hall Of Famer
Nigerian sprint queen Tobi Amusan has made history by becoming the youngest inductee into the University of Texas El Paso’s Hall of Fame.
The world 100m hurdles record holder graduated from the prestigious academic institution seven years ago and has gone on to become one of the biggest athletes around the globe.
“I humbly introduce to you the youngest female miner to be inducted into UTEP’s Hall of Fame Class of 2024. Three semesters as a miner and the rest is…great is God’s faithfulness,” an excited Tobi Amusan said.
“Got a full-ride scholarship to maximise my athletic abilities whilst studying full-time from January 2016 to August 2017.
“It sure took a village; I enjoyed every bit of being a student-athlete. To my old friends/teammates, class of 2016/2017: love you all.”
Recall that in 2023, the 27-year-old sprinter was inducted into the Conference USA Hall of Fame.
Currently, Tobi Amusan is the world record holder in the 100m hurdles (12.1s), which she achieved at the semi-final of the 2022 World Championships in Oregon.

Tobi Amusan went on to become the first Nigerian to win the world 100m hurdle title at Oregon in 2022.
So far, she has competed in three Olympic Games for Team Nigeria and has emerged champion on four occasions at the African Games, five-time African champion, Diamond League champion on three occasions, and Commonwealth Games winner in 2018 and 2022.
She is considered one of the greatest athletes in the history of Nigerian athletics.
