Tornado Warning Issued on University of Oklahoma Campus

According to university officials, a tornado warning was issued early Sunday for the University of Oklahoma’s Norman campus. The alert was first posted on the university’s official X (formerly Twitter) account at 1:22 a.m., urging individuals to seek immediate shelter. The university issued warnings at 1:55 a.m. and 2:02 a.m. to keep the campus community informed.

“Seek shelter NOW inside the building you are in,” the initial warning read. “Move to lowest floor/interior.”

Students and staff were advised to remain indoors and take shelter in the lowest, most interior parts of buildings. This is a developing situation; updates are expected as officials continue monitoring the weather conditions.
