On April 12, 2024, Officer Cadet Owowoh Princess Oluchukwu made history by becoming the first Nigerian female officer to graduate from the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS).

Oluchukwu achieved the remarkable feat at the age of 24 after completing the 44-week intensive training for the Officer Cadets of Commissioning Course 232. She is also the 190^th Nigerian to graduate from the institution.

In 2018, Oluchukwu joined the Nigeria Defence Academy in Kaduna State and was appointed a Cadet Lance Corporal in her second year. In her fourth year, she was appointed a Cadet Sergeant, and in her fifth year, she was appointed the Company Senior Under Officer Charlie (CSUO C).

She completed the Academics Wing of the commissioning course in her fourth year and was excellent with a first-class honours in Biological Sciences.

Notable Nigerians, such as former Military Head of State General Yakubu Gowon and the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye, and many more, are alumni of the RMAS.
