Anthony Joshua Is Set To Become World Champion Again
Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua has another chance to become world champion after Oleksandr Usyk announced that he has vacated the world IBF heavyweight title.
Usyk’s decision means Joshua will face British boxer Daniel Dubois for the title on September 21, 2024 at the Wembley Stadium.

After two consecutive defeats to Usyk between 2021 and 2022, Joshua has worked his way up the heavyweight ranks and is eager to beat Dubois who he says has been on his mind.
“I picked Dubois to win (against Hrgovic). I watch boxing closely and I picked him before,” Joshua said during a press conference on Wednesday ahead of their September showdown.
“It came true and we’re here, so I’ve been having Dubois on my mind for a while, and he’ll be on my mind for the next 12 weeks until I get my hand raised.”
The Nigerian also went on to say that Dubois might not be a dominant name as Fury or Wilder, but he will not make the mistake of underrating him.
“Dubois isn’t like the way they mention Fury or Wilder, but I’m not silly either. I know the game, we’re all in the wild, we’re a pack of lions, we’re hunters,” he pointed.
“So I’ve got to keep my eyes peeled. I can’t just focus on those two and not worry about anyone else. I’ve always kept my eyes peeled on Daniel and the rest of the heavyweights as well.”
Nigerians are anticipating the fight and hopeful that Joshua comes out with the IBF title which is likely to mark the beginning of his domination again.
