Daniel Akintola Becomes First African To Win The IAMBCU Entrepreneur Of The Year Award

Daniel Akintola has made history by becoming the first African to win the IAMBCU Entrepreneur of the Year Award at Birmingham City University in England.

Mr. Akintola, who is the co-founder of Oh Prime TV, an online-based television bouquet that is available on platforms such as smart TVs, smart boxes, and mobile devices,.

He co-funded the platform with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Since it was founded, Oh Prime TV has amassed 2.7 million users who converge daily and stream on over 450 multilingual channels.

The 2024 edition of the IAMBCU Award was held at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s Bradshaw Hall in the United Kingdom on Thursday, May 23.

An excited Akintola appreciated Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and Dove Media for their efforts in boosting the brand.

“The Entrepreneur of the Year Award category recognizes budding and seasoned entrepreneurs who are making waves in the business world,” Akintola said.

“I emerged the first African student to win the prestigious ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ award, courtesy of Oh Prime TV.”

Nigeria boasts some of the greatest media entrepreneurs on the globe, such as Nduka Ogbaigbena of Arise TV, Mo Abudu of Ebony Live Productions, Jade Osiberu, Funke Akindele, and a few others.

Winning the IAMBCU Award means Oh Prime is on the right track to becoming one of the biggest media platforms in Africa and the entire African continent.

The formidable partnership between Oh Prime and RCCG’s television is a significant step towards achieving this goal in a 21st century that has become increasingly digitalized.

Mr. Akintola has set the pace at the IAMBCU for African entrepreneurs, and it will be hardly surprising to see more Africans win the award.
