Dr. Ken Egbas is the CEO of Gold Starr Group, the organisers of the renowned SERAS Awards. His story reminds us that great successes come from taking bold steps even when all the pointers are discouraging. Egbas’ bold step of taking the stage to speak when no one seemed to be listening led to what is known today as ‘The Africa Sustainability Awards’ (also known as The SERAS Awards)!
As a young boy, life threw spanners at his family’s well-being. He became a street hawker, selling bread, bananas, and “iced water”, the precursor of today’s pure water to support his mother! He frankly says that he’s where he is today due to divine help. His love to inspire young people knows no bounds as he once took on mentoring sessions for this author’s Public Relations students.
